Rose Apple

The Rose Apple is a very tropical looking fruit tree that cannot tolerate moderate frost. It has leaves resembling a rubber plant and flowers with long cream colored stamines. The fruit are like hollow guavas but without the muskiness of guavas and have a sweet rose tinted flavor. The Rose Apple tree pictured above is still much smaller than the mature size of a tree which can reach 20 feet tall, but seems to stay smaller in less tropical climates.
